Fans of the “Harry Potter” franchise might remember Imelda Staunton from her role as Dolores Umbridge. She is also known for her role in “Nanny McPhee.” She began her career as a theatre actress in 1976 by appearing in various theatre productions in the UK. Her role as Lucy in “The Beggar’s Opera” earned her an Oliver Award nomination for Best Actress.
Staunton’s husband, Jim Carter, is also an accomplished actor and was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2019. The actors got married in 1983, with the marriage producing one child. Together, they make a power couple, both on and off-screen.
