Today show co-anchor Hoda Kotb is among the most recognizable faces in American TV. So, many were surprised to learn that she was being paid a significantly lower rate than her former co-host Matt Lauer. The latter was making a whopping $20 million a year when he was let go by the network in 2017, while Kotb was making about just half of that.
But making money isn’t really the Egyptian American journalist’s main motivation saying she doesn’t want paydays to be her happy days on the job. These days, Kotb also seems to be more focused on raising two adopted daughters while juggling her NBC News duties.
