Jake Tapper dove right to work after graduating magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in the early ‘90s. The State of the Union host didn’t venture into journalism right away, though. Helping out a family friend, Tapper served in the campaign team of former representative Marjorie Margolies.
He eventually pursued reporting full time. These days, he still dabbles in politics, but this time as an occasional debate moderator and lends his expertise to CNN’s elections coverage as well. In fact, you probably tuned in to him during the 2016 presidential race as he provided audiences with much-needed analysis on poll projections.
